Chhanda Sanjh

Honoring Our Poetic Heritage

About Program

At Saugaat Montessori School, we believe in nurturing not just academic excellence but also cultural pride and literary appreciation. One of our most meaningful annual events is “Chhanda Sanjh”, organized on the occasion of Bhanu Jayanti to pay tribute to Aadikavi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya — the pioneer of Nepali poetry.

This special celebration is designed to help children explore and appreciate the beauty of Nepali poetry, especially the traditional chhanda (metrical verses), while also preserving our linguistic and cultural roots.

  • To introduce students to Nepali poetic forms, especially classical chhanda
  • To honor the legacy of Aadikavi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya
  • To promote Nepali language, literature, and national pride
  • To develop students’ poetic expression, public speaking, and cultural awareness
  • To foster intergenerational appreciation of literature through family and community participation

Why We Celebrate Bhanu Jayanti at School

  • Learn about the roots of Nepali literature
  • Understand the structure, flow, and discipline of traditional poetry
  • Discover the joy of poetic performance, collaboration, and creation

 Our Vision

At Saugaat Montessori School, literature lives beyond books. Through Chhanda Sanjh, we pass on a poetic legacy — full of wisdom, rhythm, and cultural pride.
It is more than a celebration. It is a gift from the past to the future — where every child, parent, and teacher becomes a voice of heritage, harmony, and heart.
