Grand Parents Day

Honoring the Roots of Our Family Tree.

About Program

Saugaat ICON is the grand annual signature event of Saugaat Montessori School — now proudly entering its 9th season. It is specially designed for Senior KG (Pre-II) students (ages 5 to 5.5) to help them build self-confidence, overcome stage fear, and express their talents in front of a live audience.

This unique platform is inspired by events like Little Lady, Master Nepal and Little Champs, where children present themselves through introductions, talent shows, Q&A, and creative performances.

Purpose of the Program

  • To help students develop a deep sense of gratitude, love, and respect for their grandparents.
  • To build intergenerational bonding between children and elders.
  • To help children understand the importance of cultural roots, moral values, and the legacy passed through generations.
  • To promote empathy and awareness for the elderly population.

October Theme: Learning About Our Grandparents

The entire month of October is dedicated to the theme of “My Grandparents and Great Grandparents”. During this month:

  • Students engage in story-sharing sessions, drawing, writing letters, and learning songs related to grandparents.
  • Those without grandparents nearby take part in virtual storytelling, message exchange, and photo collage activities, ensuring every child feels connected.
  • Children learn about the roles of grandparents in different cultures and times, building awareness and appreciation.

Activities Leading to Grandparents’ Day

To help students experience, learn, and reflect deeply, we organize:

  • Field trips to old age homes to connect with elderly members of the community.
  • Interviews with grandparents or senior citizens, where students ask meaningful questions and learn about the past.
  • Home tasks that involve children spending quality time with their grandparents — such as cooking, reading, or sharing traditions.

 The Grand Celebration

The highlight of the theme is the Grandparents’ Day Event, a heartfelt and joyous celebration held at school. The event includes:

  • Honoring senior-most grandparents as guests of honor.
  • Cultural performances, songs, dances, and skits by students dedicated to their grandparents.
  • Fun games and interactive activities that children and grandparents play together.
  • Gift and card presentations, made with love by students.
  • Storytelling or sharing sessions from grandparents, enriching everyone with their life experiences.

This event brings tears of joy, laughter, and lifelong memories, reinforcing the emotional and cultural connection between generations.
