Igniting the Spirit of Sportsmanship in Early Childhood

About Program

At Saugaat Montessori School, we strongly believe in the holistic development of every child — nurturing not only the mind but also the body, character, and team spirit. As part of our commitment to physical and emotional well-being, we proudly celebrate Olympic Day and actively participate in the Preschool Olympic event annually.

Why Teach Sports to Preschoolers?

In early childhood, introducing sports is about much more than physical movement. It helps children:

  • Develop coordination, balance, and motor skills
  • Learn discipline, patience, and perseverance
  • Cultivate a team spirit and respect for others
  • Boost confidence and emotional regulation
  • Understand the value of effort, practice, and fair play

Olympic Day Celebration at Saugaat

Every year in the month of June, we celebrate International Olympic Day at school to:

  • Teach children the values of Olympic movementExcellence, Friendship, and Respect
  • Introduce them to the idea of global unity through sports
  • Inspire them to stay active, focused, and joyful

Our Olympic Day celebration includes:

  • Flag march and symbolic torch relay
  • Simple track & field activities (running, hurdle walk, relay)
  • Team games to promote collaboration
  • Award & medal distribution to encourage participation over competition

 Preschool Olympic Participation

We also proudly send our students to participate in the Preschool Olympic organized by Pre School Olympic Commission under the umbrella of Sports for all Commission, NOC Nepal. It is one of the most energetic and unifying events where:

  • Children interact with peers from other schools
  • They participate in sports-based competitions
  • Gain exposure to large-scale events
  • Feel a sense of belonging and pride

Parents, educators, and guests witness their children shine beyond the classroom — in courage, joy, and resilience.

Why These Events Are Needed for Young Learners

  • Builds confidence in public settings
  • Develops respect for rules and teamwork
  • Provides joyful learning beyond books
  • Encourages healthy habits and physical strength
  • Fosters leadership, perseverance, and humility

 Our Philosophy

At Saugaat Montessori, we don’t just play — we build character through movement, challenges, and cheer.
Through Olympic Day and Preschool Olympic events, we sow the seeds of a strong body, sharp mind, and kind heart — preparing our little champions to walk, run, and rise in every arena of life.
